Fuel from plastics
« on: January 30, 2011, 07:52:42 PM »
I happened upon a video showing how this worked and found it interesting.

I then traced back to the thread and read about its construction.  Thought others might also find it interesting.

He posted the link to his vid in the thread so I didn't repost it.

Very interesting indeed!

its amazing what a guy can do in his garage, give the will, enough time
and determination.

thanks for the links

on first blush, my thinking is i am not sure i want to process plastics, however
so much of that sort of thing goes to landfills the way it is, and will likely remain there
for a very long time if not forever, so... maybe its a good thing to process it back into fuel.

that is if it can be done safely, without releasing toxic gases that either make you or your neighbors sick.

apparently it can be done

it would stand to reason that melting plastics would be far less of a producer of toxic gasses than would be liberated if they were simply burned in an open pit like this sort of thing used to be disposed of.
