Start-o-matic flywheel weight
« on: November 15, 2010, 04:11:29 AM »

Anyone know the weight of a Start-o-matic flywheel for a 6/1 ?
They look considerably thicker than a standard 6/1CS

I have one free that I can weigh.  I have to figure out a scale though.  250 lbs each is a good guess at the weight.

Electric flywheels which are the same as SOM flywheels (without the grooves) are 125 Kg or 275 lbs ea.

Nope Bill, been real busy, building on the house the last year or so, lots of travelling, Spain Portugal last couple of months.  Finally got round to looking at Penelope again.  Got to take out the big end bearings and try and refit them, hook up the fuel system, tighten all the loose bolts etc.  Maybe first smoke when ski season ends this spring.

Things on the old forum look good!  Hi to all the old friends, Andrew, Casey, you etc. etc....

Going to try and fit in some more computer time in the future, away again back east in January though.

Working on your house well I know how that goes. I spent about 2.5 months sleeping on an air mattress this past summer when my wife insisted that part of our house needed a total rebuild. :( :(

Good luck with Penelope my 10/1 is thumping away right now but is suffering a slow death from evidently abrasive waste oil syndrome. ;D
