Sorry to hijack your thread Bob. The engine was shipped to Lister Toronto Ontario Canada , leaving Dursley April 6 1916. It is set up for a Morris Lister flick mag. Engine has 2 external cams (retard, run) that act on the mag and I believe the decompression lever that lifts the exhaust valve also slides the cam in and out in conjunction to set it to starting configuration. Things in that area are still a little tight. haven't had time to do much work, Mom just getting over C surgery, been a horrible summer  :'( Paul.

Apologies also for thread theft Bob.

Hi Paul, Lovely engine, I have not seen one in the flesh.  Sorry to hear about your Mum,  a mans best ever friend.  Hope your Autumn is better than your Summer.    Regards Bill.

To only partially hyjack it again, but somewhat related.  How many Portlands are there in the US?  I know of Oregon and Maine, hadn't heard of others, such as the topic of this thread!

Only one.. Portland Indiana.. one of the best engine show and swap meet. swap meet held every may and show held every August. they also have one in Oct, but never been to that one.this one has remained a true engine swap meet and show//most other shows and swap meets have changed to a flea market and not worth the effort to go..it is sad to drive 1000 miles and only find junk from a flea market.this one is well worth the effort....sid

I just got back from the Portland 2012 show.  I met Jean Desgartens (?) a regular poster on Smokestack.  He had a 3.5 CS Lister and a generator rig that I believe he was delivering to a customer there.  That was the only Lister I saw.  Certainly no Bamfords either.  I was told that there was a Ruston there but I could not find it.
