Doug,
Don't count him out yet. He's gone under three times now, I think. And he always seems to re-surface somehow. Must have big lungs or something.
I've only run across one person (real person, not one of Willem's phony alter-egos) who bought one of his engines. The guy read what went on on this forum and contacted me, too embarrassed to join in himself. (Perhaps he's still here?) Got an engine with numerous problems. Last I heard he had been told that he'd be taken care of. I don't think I ever heard from him again. That was about the time Willem, in his oddly transparent mode, posted all kinds of info on his website about how he got a load of engines that were full of sand, etc. As soon as it was mentioned here, that all disappeared and the marketing hype and B.S. resumed.
As far as websites go, his was always one of the best, meaning execution, not content. But there was never anything particularly useful or original there. However it provided great entertainment value. The things he put on it sometimes made you catch your breath and ask, "What could he have been thinking?" Like having the arrogance to name the engine he sold the "W.C. Andree Engine." That really takes someone who's comfortable in his skin!
While this is another turn of the worm, I wouldn't count him out just yet.
Keep yer feet dry!
