Lister FR1
« on: July 21, 2010, 11:11:00 AM »
I have put a video of my latest buy on youtube.
If you put in Lister FR1 you will find it.
Also a video of my FR2 and three videos of my CS.
There is a video of a home made compressor which I have since taken apart but I have made a new and improved one which I will make a video of soon.
Next job is to fit a Gast air motor to my sun tyre machine.
Cheers

The FR1 generating set is an interesting set up you have there, see you also have a Lister VA there as well.

I see it has provision to drive two alternators, or is the one in bits used for starting the engine, as I understand these sets were used in GPO telephone exchanges. Do you have any of the control gear for it?

Thanks for the interest.
It did not come with the control gear.
The remains of what was connected to the rear looks like it was a large dynamo.
As the engine has got an electric fuel stop start solenoid but no starter motor I am thinking the dynamo was a starter motor come dynamo.
I have seen in the last week the very same type of generator but complete sold on ebay.
I know the man who has bought it but have not seen it yet.
He is going to try to run it on veg oil.
I have since removed the engine and I am going to make a new frame and fit a newer alternator.
The VA is going to have any good bits removed and the block will go for scrap.
I have a FR2 in bits which I want to sell if your interested.

Thanks,
