Importing engine from the UK

I am with a group of people who have been working on a project of importing real Lister's from the UK. At first there were 6 people in the group and it looks like 1 has lost intrest. We are importing a 20 foot container which should hold somewhere between 20 and 25 engines. With 6 people the shipping divided equally will be right 1000 dollars per person. This will give you a space for 3 or 4 engines. I have at least 2 different buyers in the UK. I have a storage space in Blackpool to hold the engines until shipping. My plan is to make a trip to the UK when the shipment is ready to assist in loading the engines. If someone would be intrested in getting involved even with 1 engine it will still be a saving from what it would cost 1 person to ship one back. If intrested just PM me or email me and we can discuss further. This could be a chance to own a working piece of history.  Mike

We have picked up another person which makes up back up to 6 people. With the size of the container we could very easily have one more person which would make it very affordable for someone to own one or two real Lister engines. Mike

I am one of the 6 people (now 7 I see),Sent my money to our guy in the UK ,was able to get money exchanged here in the States and sent it Fedex .We have found that the best way may be to do a Paypal.At this time I have a Nice 6/1. I have a 5/1 in the works .Our guy is checking and doing any repairs.I have him looking for a 6/1 SOM

Hello Mike, sorry for not replying to your earlier email, its due to me being very busy presently and working very long hours, I dont  get to the computer until late evening and almost fall asleep on it.
at the last count there were 6 CS engines in my collection and my son has one,   3-1 runner unrestored.   3-1 non runner missing inj pump rocker cover and inj restored.    5-1 runner missing rocker cover unrestored.  5-1 runner  generator flywheels restored.  5-1 runner restored can be seen on youtube (dancing Lister CS).    5-1 runner generator flywheels unrestored.   8-1 4.5 Kva startamatic on cast iron base with original cooling and fuel tanks runner.  As a picture paints a thousand words I will if I  get a bit of spare time  assemble them outdoors and photo them along with the unrestored CE.   Please note that I dont have a problem with Americans and have driven extensively in the golden west states of California,Utah,Nevada, Arizona,New Mexico and Colorado, you certainly have some awe inspiring scenery out there. Addition to list 2 FR6's, 2  FR2's and 2 FR1's. I looked these up and some people seem to think these are better than CS engines, just a little more complicated. This might be a choice for people looking for twins since twins don'r seem to be coming on the market right now. I would expect as time goes on more people will find out about us and hopefully want to sell some of them. Mike DD

Ok well I have been talking to Mark W about this lot of engines and we came up with a very good idea that would be great for anyone wanting to purchase one of the engines in question. It might not be a good solution for someone wanting to buy and resell them but I guess getting these engines over here is the most important thing. Now first I really hope this will not affect the container I have been working on and so many people are depending on to get thier engines. Also I in no way will recieve any compensation for anything the sellers may make on the sale. I mentioned sellers because there are now two people intrested in providing engines and there might even be 2 twins.
Here is how it is going to be set up. Mark Wilkiinson and Pete and possibly Ade will get some still shots and a video of all of the engines that are to be sold with serial numbers listed to make sure the right engine goes to the right buyer. The auction will be sealed bid and after a given time frame the bids will be open and the buyers will be notified. The buyers will be responsible in sending the money to Mark or Pete and pay pal seems to be the best I have found for small 1 time purchases like this. Then the seller will contract a container to ship the engines to Dodge City where I will assist the buyers in getting the engines shipped to them at the buyers expense. This will be just like buying off of eBay. Now if you are already involved in the container shipment it will not have any advantage to want to add them to the container since this group of engines will probably be shipped sooner since there are quite a few people involved in the first container are getting engines from Mark Le Ritche and it will not ship until everyone has their engines. I will need to check with the forum just to make sure it will be OK to do something like this and I would think the sellers might make a small donation for using this forum. I will post more in the near furture after I make sure the forum is OK with this. Mike DD

Wags if I have neglected to get back with you I will just post the tentative dates. The first container where everyone is responsible to purchase their own engines will be sometime in late February or March. The reason for this is because Mark La Ritche is building engines for several people and it will not ship until everyone has their engines. The other container that is being offered by Mark and Pete will be a sealed bid auction. When all engines are sold and deposits are paid then I will need everyone of the buyers to contact me by email of name and addresses so I can fill out the paperwork needed to get these engines brought into the US. When this is all done Mark will call for a container load it then get it shipped. i am pretty sure Mark and Pete will be using the same shipper we are using because he has had experience doing this for over 10 years. I trust he knows the ins and out of getting this done. I hope this will answer your question and anyone else who might have some questions. Mike DD

Everything went high at that auction, but it was there and you could walk right out with it.
