I thought there was another thread discussing possible issues with governors when driving a 3600RPM load... I dont remember the conclusion, other than a vauge memory of "the bigger the difference in speed between motor/gen, the greater the chance for problems.  I know that the self excitation on many 3600RPM units doesn't like falling below the rated speed too much.....

I don't think its an issue so much Steve...
The one power stroke for every 12 spins of the alternator might result in some flicker but nothing is perfect.
The extra rotor weight of the 4 pole ST might store more inertia but this is all guess work until some one puts theory to the test.

That much said I need an ST 7.5 anyone have any in eastern Canada or am I going to have deal with a Chinese man direct?

Try a note to John Ferguson, close to Ottawa ont...he had a new shipment still in  crates last time I was there. Not sure if he operates only on orders or there may have been some extras...nice quality stuff.
