Cracking Diesel from WMO ?
« on: May 30, 2009, 05:40:48 PM »
Would appreciate views on small scale , home built cracking plants to distill Diesel from WMO ?  My main concern is how to viably fuel the process as the temperature has to up around 400 Deg C.

Hi compiq, jens and others,
Have a look at the following site and see what you think. Go to www.freediesel.com.au/   These people advertise a set of plans to build a
cracking plant that runs on WMO and claims to produce up to a 60% diesel yield from the oil fed to it. I have yet to see a report from someone who has built and run
such a setup long enough to assess its safety and effectiveness, so I am still holding onto my money at this stage. It's an interesting idea though,  Regards,  Combustor.
Toys include- Lister CS 8/1, Lister VA SOM plant and some Aussie engines.

Ditto that. I would at least want to see a rig set up and operating.
