Value of 16/2
« on: May 29, 2009, 12:32:13 AM »
Hello, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking at buying a Lister 16hp twin. It's made in England and says on the plate : no 372 16-2 31  hp 16   rpm 850.
Does anyone know what approximate year this engine is and what it might be worth? It has very low time on it. Thanks everyone and great site!

if it is low hours, complete, in running order, etc. it is worth whatever the market will give for it
which will be a premium the closer it is to new condition.

maybe as much as 5 grand when the economy was better, maybe 3 grand now.

To work out the age, just add 1950 to the last two digits of your serial number, after the engine spec - so the one you're looking at is 1981 vintage.

Can't help you on the value I'm afraid.

Prop,

If you decide against it, or it ends up being too much money, I'd be very, very interested in it.

Please keep that in mind and let me know if it ends up being available.  Perhaps you could earn a finder's fee if the deal happens.

The only criteria is it needs to be in North America someplace...

Thanks,
