I don't know anything about them but reading the specs, I don't like the idea of splash lubrication at 2200 rpm
I like to think the older I get the wiser I become, but I'm not so sure.

That looks to be the standard Changfa style engine, but i thought they had pressurized lubrication. Bob, Veggie, do the Changfa's have an oil pump? if so, what is this?
If it's a Changfa, there are guys here that swear by them, but the seller seems to have some problems in his feedback file !!

Carroll Stream Motor Company offers a lot of Chinese import stuff. I got an air cleaner and muffler from them for a 4hp Yanmar clone. The transaction was fine. They were helpful on the phone and I got what I needed. Other than that I don't know much about them and I don't know Changfa's at all. No affiliation. Ask them about the splash lube, it doesn't sound right to me either.

Thanks, Geno

the chinese have a translation problem
these engine's all have gearotor style oil pumps, xdrilled crankshafts and all that

changfa lists their engine's as pressure and splash lubrication

only thing i can figure is they are telling you that some parts are splash lubed, just as they are
in first world engine's, same for the pressure/pump fed parts.

i don't know this specific manufacture, carrol stream has been around for a while

but i don't know good or bad about either.

fwiw, the engine is a direct injected engine

They are probably OK, but the name on the engine nameplate is not Changfa.
I zoomed in on the larger pictures. Not sure who's engines they are importing. Does not look like Swan either.
I have had my eye on the little 4.4HP and 7.7HP engines as hobby units to run on WVO.
Still have to justify the purchase. (I have 4 diesels already). But they sure are cute!

Hang on ! my Kraft Dinner is boiling...........

OK ! I'm back....

Have a look here...

Even though the headings state a radiator, the pictures show otherwise. These have the hopper cooling systems. Handy if you plan to use the coolant heat for space heating or remote engine cooling. Not so good for stationary generator systems. (Constant evaporation and refilling).

Good luck,

The pictures show the name tag on the engine but they are not readable.
I suggest you call or email the seller and ask the brand name.
If it's Changfa, Swan, or Weichai you are probably ok.
