Fuel system questions...
« on: March 12, 2009, 03:41:36 PM »
Could someone who's currently near to their engine (or knows ;)) tell me:

1) What size is the banjo that connects to the fuel filter? (3/4"?)
2) What inside diameter is the fuel line? (1/4"? 3/8"?)

Of the three fuel tanks I have, none have any fittings, so I'll be sourcing all new stuff like taps, bulkhead fittings, etc. It'd be nice to get the right size, so I can order stuff to co-incide with my return to the UK....

Many thanks in advance!  ;D

I did wonder that, from the odd numbers; but mulitplying them up doesn't give anything sensible either ???

Basically.... if I wanted to buy a banjo fitting to go on the fuel filter, and some pipe to go up to a fuel tank.... what size would I need get? Is it something standard(ish) I can get from a motor factor, or will I need to go to a chandlers, or specialist?

Many thanks...  :)

On your side of the world Stationary parts has what you need, fuel tank to filter lines for 11.50 gbp, for flexable, 6.89 gbp for hard lines. filter to pump for 6.84 gbp, Banjo fitting, bolt & washrs for 4.88 gbp.

Peter is correct all the fuel pipe fittings on the engine are metric and your local hydraulic pipe maker will have fittings in abundance.

Just out of intrest the bleed screw on the injection pump is 6mm metric and a 10mm long x 6mm allen screw make a perfect bleed screw lots better than an old worn screw head.

Doh! I've looked through that site several times, never even registered that they do banjos, etc.  ::) Thanks for the link, most helpful. They've even got a proper fuel tap - I've been looking at the motorbike ones on ebay...

Thanks again!  ;D
