That's exactly right. These engines are great, but it gives me the willies working around it while it's running. I'm going to rig up some kind of protection, but meanwhile, I don't let anyone mess with it or run it when I'm not around.

Here is a basic pic of my power plant. The starter arrangement is visible on the right.

I just push by foot against the starter button, it leaves both hands free to work the governor and compression releases.

I just started my 6/1 today at 14 degrees with no starting fluid. 8hp pony motor belt drive. I will try to post some pictures.  Having trouble posting pictures.  I tried the insert image but does not work.
