i have no idea what corrie street is, but

"absolutely fabulous" and "british men behaving badly" were my two favorite british imports

of course i have a twisted sense of humor i am told by my wife

(but she is now a "red green show" convert)

dr. who is ok i guess

but those two broads on "absolutely fabulous" kill me!

something about english humor, that just cracks me up.

(yes my wife thinks i am nuts too) but she is afraid to watch
because she is convinced she will be converted again!

....add more pulses is the only way to improve the problem, more pulses means more cylinders or
much faster rpms so that the pulses come closer together.

i don't think anyone wants a 6krpm listeroid, and i don't even wanna see on on utube!

:)

There were some reduced size Indian copies of a Petter around a few years ago.  They couldn't achieve 6k rpm but I seem to recall they could by some design 'feature' reach between 3k and 4k rpm.   :o
-DIY 1.5L NA VW diesel genset - 9 kW 3-phase. Co-gen, dual  fuel
- 1966, Petter PJ-1, 5 kW air cooled diesel standby lighting plant
-DIY JD175A, minimum fuel research genset.
-Changfa 1115
-6 HP Launtop air cooled diesel
-Want Lister 6/1
-Large DIY VAWT nearing completion

Actually, it was the lack of a design 'feature', namely the QC on the governor.......

its nice to see everone getting excited about this issue of keeping stable voltage and frequency, i dont have any experience with the listeroid engines or the st gen heads, but i do have some experience with real litser engines and real (vintage) generators.
the st heads from what i gather come in 2 variations 1800 and 3600 rpm for 60 hz, 2 pole gen for 3600 and 4 pole for 1800, there is no mention of a 6 pole generator that runs at 1200 rpm for 60 hz. and using a real dc exciter not the "brushless" style excitation, much easier to regulate.
What i would like to know is how well did the original cs listers start-o-matic sets maintain voltage and hz.
My lister jp 18/2 running at 1200 rpm directly coupled to a 1940's kato-lite gen head maintains voltage withing 1 volt and frequency +/- .5 hz  with 50 amp 240 volt load applied  , its 15kw  130 amp 120 volt, 65 amp 240 volt with 1950's regohm electromechanical regulator, i have to hook up a scope and check the sign wave for my own ammusement, bulbs dont flicker with this unit.

its a shame so many good generators  and real engines got sold to scrap dealers and turned into chinese crap

We humans aren't very smart.  In fact most of us will eagerly dig our own graves given a little incentive like time and a half of normal wages  It is indeed criminal IMO that so many high quality generator heads and indeed old, iron intensive thus last for ever oil engines wound up for pennies a pound scrap value and sent to the big smelter in China.  We humans aren't very smart.  In fact most of us will eagerly dig our own graves given a little incentive......
