The last Polka
« on: September 06, 2008, 01:02:51 AM »
Its been fun but times change and so do people.

My participation in this forum is drawing to a close.

The engines are still crap from India

The same people make the same plugs

The same questions are asked over and over

Gus sleeps a in plastic sheet and the Jinlong head along with it.
I now own a Kubota and its in front line service

I have decided this just isn't going to lead any place and I have plenty of other things to play with ( mostly lantners, blow torches, realy old engines and tools ).

So long and thanks for all the fish.......
Doug

Doug, you are one who will be sorely missed. It's always great to have someone experienced from the rewind shop to put in some advise on generator and motor matters..
May your lanterns always burn bright and your torches run hot and clean...

If you're ever in Sonoma County, CA, USA, stop by for a beer and a big hug!   ;D

I'll miss your voice here, it takes many instruments to make the full orchestra.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge Doug, I appreciate both it and your perspective.  I guess I have never taken this forum as seriously as you to consider saying good bye.   My listeroid is still under a tarp too, but I still intend to work it some more before I get put in a box.  Thanks for your contribution of 2743 posts.  Maybe if I made that many, I would start looking at this as a chore rather than just some interesting dialog.  Good luck with the child and be careful down in that hole.   ;D

You know what, I know the feeling, but you contributed alot to this forum, I learned alot from your posts. The Indian Listers are a coin toss, some people get good ones ,and some get bad ones. But as far as the same questions over and over Ill agree, I myself probably asked a question that you answered before,But at least keep in touch with the forum now and then,We will still learn something. Listers are a toy that you play with. We all know that any diesel produced in US or Canada is far Superior than Asia, but we like to tinker with something as a hobby. We like to get our hands in metal and grease, and make it right. My regards to your contributions to the forum. Brian

Doug:

whatever you do, don't delete your account
the last time you left you had iirc around 1700posts and had to start over from scratch
and post your ass off to get to where you are today!

that had to be alot of work,, doing all that posting
sure would be a shame to see you delete your membership and later decide to come back
and start from scratch again.

stay safe and check back in when you have time

Doug, the forum will not benefit by your leaving.  Some of your posts were/are outright zany and some are absolute gems written from experience of a lifetime in the field.  You will be sorely missed by some.

Especially Bob, who is fast losing targets for his arguments.   :)

Drop by at regular intervals and give us a wake up call......just stir up Bob and retire without him knowing if you are going to resond ;D  Like the proverbial firework instruction - light blue touch-paper and retire :)

Best regards, RAB
