6-1 Glamor Shots
« on: July 28, 2008, 11:29:31 PM »
I finished painting and assembling my Lister 6-1 gen set over the weekend.  It will never look as good as this again, so now was the time for the pictures.

Wow! What a beautiful job of it!

What's up with that interesting looking gauge that has several pointers on it?

Does it do temp and pressure, or what?  Can we see a close up of it?

Great work. You should be proud!

(the copper fuel lines always make me a little nervous though)

That is a really sweet looking package!  Didn't we see this last year with a domestic box fan on it?  Nice VSWR gauge!  Again, you have done a very nice looking job!

This is a combination temp & pressure gauge I found in a local heating supply house.  They are common in hot water heating systems.

On the 16-2 I just completed, I switched over to all stainless steel lines.  If it is ever an issue on this one, I'll make up new SS lines for this engine as well.  There is a 3 way valve at the injector pump where I'll feed fuel once this lands in a permanant home.

Thanks for the comment.  It has been a fun project.

I did build my 16-2 Genset with the box fan.  I used an inexpensive 120VAC fan for the cooling.  I found this 19: rack mount cabinet cooling fan that I used on this one.  If I find another one, I'd put it on the other unit and eliminate the box fan.

Here is a picture of it.
