Thanks Paul,
Several spares came from England.  This included the pistons, rings, and gaskets.  Other items came from Central Marine in Maine, primarily rod bearings and some other misc.  Finally some items came from my local Amish Lister dealer.

Here is a shot of the governor linkage.  I went through it and made new pins and pivots.  I have not done the spring attachment mod yet.

I have continued with preparation for paint.  The origional paint was knocked off with a needle scaler than I went over it with a powered wire brush on a 4" hand held grinder.  After that another wash with solvent to remove any oils or grease.  After that another spray off with acetone.  Then I masked and prepared for painting;

All the misc parts are laid out for painting,

Then shoot the paint!;

Hanging the engine from the lift truck helps getting at the right angle;

Almost done with the block, ready to start on the flywheels.  I slipped the wheels on the shaft and secured with a shaft collar so they would not fall off by accident.  I could rotate them easilly to paint all surfaces.

Back in the shop;

Looking good!

After the paint cures I'll start assembly.  I use Sherwin Williams Tile-Clad paint.  It is a high solids, hi-build two part material.  It goes on nice and you can build it up thick to cover up casting pores.

Bob,

Thanx for the terrific detailed photos of your work.  The engine looks terrific!  It looks like the entire neighborhood benefitted from you painting this beast outdoors with overspray, you got everything else green too!   ;)

By two part paint are you saying you used a true epoxy finish?

BTW, looks like you have a wonderful shop there in which to play, and a forklift is just so handy/necessary.

Thanks Guys,
The paint I use is Sherwin Williams Tile Clad HS.  It is a high solids, 2 part epoxy paint.  If you use it, DO NOT use the water based version of this material.  Use the solvent based material only.  It needs their solvent 54 to reduce for spraying (10% max)  and clean your spray gun.

I got the rest of the jewlery hung on her over the weekend.  I'll post "glamor shots" as soon as I can.

Fortunately the neighbors are quite a distance way.  No issues with overspray.  The dog got a spot of green on him though...

The conduit nuts help lock the header pipes in place without really screwing them in super tight.

Yes, Decals were on the engine and I have been in contact with David Edgington,  www.Stationaryenginebooks.co.uk  about getting some replacements.   About 2 years ago I bought some off Ebay from another seller in England.  I had nothing but trouble and frustration with them.  The film was so thin that I could not get it to lay flat or straight.  they would flip over and stick to themselves and not come undone.  They turned out horrible.  I complained and he offered to send another set, but never did.

Davis is selling a Lister CS book.  Has anyone purchased one?  How is it?

My wife was watching a home decorator show and they were describing how you could buy a 3M product that you ran through an inkjet (laser?) printer and it printed a water based decal you could soak in water and apply to smooth surfaces.  Has anyone ever heard of it?  I checked in our local "Staples" store and got a lot of blank looks.

If it's available widely, we could make our own decals from jpegs downloaded off the internet.

Hi folks,
I was able to shoot some pictures in the afternoon light yesterday.  Other than decals, she is ready to go.

I know that this fuel tank is too small.  When I make the permanant installation, the fuel connection will be made at the fitting on the fuel inlet to the filter.  There is a pipe plug in there now.
