« on: April 20, 2008, 07:42:08 AM »

Thanks

FWIW;

The idler bolt and idler gear on a 25/2 are the same as he 6/1 (at least it was on my Ashwamegh), I don't think the 28/2's will be any different.

xyzer,

The answer to your original question was, of course, no.  The dippers on some are hollow.  I can not think of any reason why the cam drive gear should be any different on any of the range, but, with the Indian manufacture who knows!!

So you just rotate it so the eccentric takes up the excess backlash, then lock it down?

Yes.....you have to balance the offset between the cam gear and the crank gear. The average "Listeroid" takes a .04" offset. The .035" is if a .04" is tight.....the .045" is if you think it could use more. Any offset other than tight will help the problem.
