Britelyt owns the patent on the Petromax lantern, developed by Germany long ago. True multifuel, even biodiesel. I bought one as a Christmas present to myself a few years ago and it works really well. The smaller one would have been bright enough.

Thanks, Geno

Those are very nice modern Lanterns.
I often wonder why Coleman didn't follow the lead on these and come up with a quick lite torch feature instead of the alchohol. Or build a modern diesel fired lanten to replace the Kero lanterns when they began to phase them out.

No matter, by the way a 237 will burn diesel if properly preheated, just proved it a few hours ago.

Nicely off topic again.

Doug:

There's a Good glass blower about half way between Jens' place and mine.  I would be pleased to drop in and ask any questions you might need answered about reproducing a lamp glass.  Probably not cheap though.    dp

Sure what the heck.....

If its not trouble ask if it would be possible to reproduce a pyrex like globe for a Coleman lamp.

If he can do it at a reasonable price I might buy a bunch and fake them for ebay.
I would however selll them as reproductions.

 Doug,

I Stopped at the glass blower's today, he says  can do but it  may not be economical if an original can still be found.  I told him the supply had dried up . He was positive,  especially if the pyrex tube he starts with is a standard size, which is 50mm, 65mm, 80mm, or 100 mm.

I will send you his email etc, via a personal message.       dp
