I have it properly grounded or so I believe at the head as well as to my main panel through my transfer switch, i am seeing one side putting out 115v and the other will put out 108 I would like to see them closer if possible.

Unless they did not wind the bobbins properly for number of turns I would try ohm readings
across U1 & U3 and U2 & U4 with the leads disconnected and floating.

If approximately equal in resistance, you might try pulling the end bells and check the soldering
at the winding tie points.  I've had to resolder the lousy solder work that Tawasi did on a 7.5 ST.
So it's worth taking a look inside.

You didn't mention whether this is a new startup or a new symptom on a system thats been
working. I'm assuming it's a new startup.

Indian head is a completely different animal from an ST....

Please snap a picture of the file wiring.
There should be a resistor with a tap or something to adjust the voltage.

If you can get within 5% or so of 120 v your good. I like to set things a bit highh at no load if I can say around 125 to ensure voltage doesn't droop too much at full load.

The 7 volt difference isnt anything to realy get worried about ( I'm happy to see everything at 5%  ). Even in Utility power you often see a difference between legs and in poly phas its more common still.

I have one area at work where I get 585 on one leg and 605 on another. No one complaines ( probably because I'm the only one who notices these things )

In that case your going to have to remove any access plates that expose all the wiring and snap many pictures of the internals.
Send me PM and I'll return an email adress and look things over.

Doug

I know nothing about the inside of your generator head and will have to make some educated guess

This is known as a differential in quality control.  That means more QC was applied to one side than the other.   :D
-DIY 1.5L NA VW diesel genset - 9 kW 3-phase. Co-gen, dualĀ  fuel
- 1966, Petter PJ-1, 5 kW air cooled diesel standby lighting plant
-DIY JD175A, minimum fuel research genset.
-Changfa 1115
-6 HP Launtop air cooled diesel
-Want Lister 6/1
-Large DIY VAWT nearing completion

Well utterpower  to the rescue, I found the answer right on there sight and it worked perfect, Doug thank you so much for your help:)
http://www.utterpower.com/vreg.htm just sliding the strap in the center closer to the other one on the resister made a world of differance.
