doug/ I have 2 of the 3.5 mp and i have never check for that. one is set up to run wide open and no way to control the speed. that is the one that will run away with you. the other is set up with a throtle and the speed can be set with a ratchet lever and controled. it does pretty good. I think the flywheels are the same/ I checked some of my parts book and they only list different ones for the air  cooled/ same flywheen with fit 2 different hp.like the 5 hp and 6.5 are the same and the 7 and 10 hp are the same/ could not tell about the 3.5 hp// sid

This must be something new that the Indians are doing....
Perhaps they have decided you simply don't need such a heavy fly wheel for pumping....
That kind of makes sence....

Do all of these mini petters have governor trouble? The reason I ask, is a freind has 2 Petter clones that I am storing on the farm for him that he uses to run cool rooms in our outback for pet food chillers. They would have to be at least 20 years old, and only the smallĀ  one hasĀ  been rebuilt . They are full size engines, one 6 HP and the other 12 HP 2 cylinder, and as far as I know they have never done a thing wrong in 20 years of intermitent work. They are "INDEC" engines made by the Indian Engine Company (or thats what it says on the tag) air cooled and they even have the Petter diamond stamped into the air cowling, just no Petter name. They look like they could be made using the old English tooling, does anyone know if Lister - Petter sold off the tooling for the old Petter series engines?

Does anyone know where I can get a fuel line to fit my 3.5 minipetter? It runs from the fuel filter housing to the injector pump. It has a bsp male end and a banjo fitting on the other that measures out to a .550 hole in center of banjo and the bsp is 1/4".  ???

Sid, I cut out the leak spot in the hose and just reclamped it with a screw clamp. i could not find a banjo hose end big enough for the fuel pump end of the hose. I own a hyd. hose shop and was able to come up with the end that screws into the filter housing, it was 1/4" male British pipe thd. but the banjo end couldnt be found. Its working fine now.

glad you have it slowed a little// that is one thing about a lister or petter// it is going to leak something//if you have the braided stainless steel line....you are in luck// it will leak/but it is only a 3 min. repair/// take the line and grind the crimp at each end loose and pull the fittings out and throw the line away/  save the barbed line and banjo fitting/// if you notice the ends are 2 different sizes/// but that is not a problem/ lowes sell a black plastic fuel line that will streatch over the ends.. you will not even need a clamp/ just push it on and go.. I have had to do this on all 4 of my lister/petters//good luck///sid
