Lister SR2 on WVO?
« on: May 22, 2006, 06:12:52 AM »
I have a Lister SR2, 12 hp Air cooled diesel, runs a 7.5 kw generator at 1800 rpm. Can this engine be used to burn WVO? Or is it more for the slower 6-800 rpm? Thanks for any info.

My ChangFa runs at 1800 rpm, and I can report no problems so far (only 60 hours or so on WVO, but there are reports of people with thousands of WVO hours on these engines).  On your engine, you will have to come up with something to heat the WVO since you don't have liquid coolant.
