That restoration looks 'phoney' somehow. Look at that brass ID plate! Looks like it was just made! Or is it a gold ID plate?

Yup, what's the difference between a Lister and a 'roid visually.  I am surprised nobody has tried to scam a 'roid with a serial plate from an old Lister.  Will eventually happen, I s'pose.

Lets think, you got a dipstick on a roid, castings are not as fine especially the flywheels.Cast part numbers would be a dead giveaway.Thinks what else?.

I remember seing an article about a copied classical painting of a man on a horse  where nobody had noticed  that he was wearing a digital watch.I believe  the experts were fooled, and he could not be done for forgery because it was`nt.

If some of you are critisizing that engine as being an Indian copy and not the real McCoy, that flywheel sure looks OEM to me. The finish and shape of the spokes gives it away, oh yeah and the visible part of the rim.

I believe its:
manufactoring # / size- # of cylinders / a number that you add 50 to (based on serial number)
If not I might get whipped with a light saber

Certainly not critisizing. That is a nicely finished engine.Very smart.Just needed a second glance with the non standard paint scheme.

She looks real purdi ta me.  But when he restores mine (no, it's not on back-order) I'm gonna go for BRG rather than indurstiral bluish green.  Is it anti-religeous to polish up the brass?

As Obi Wan has warned us all:  "Envey, a cruel master, she can be."
