I used to have a couple of seagull motors. Not much to go wrong on them.Wrap a bit of rope around the top   and pull to get started. Technology i can understand.

Never seen one here.

But I do have a couple of Johnson JW 10 engines. Very simple machines....

Lend.....I'd love to see a pic of the inside of the cylinder!  I'm doing a survey on wear on the top 1/2" of old Lister cylinders.  Seriously!

Anyone ever try rust removal with a bucket of water and electrolysis ?  Just wondering how well it works on rusty lumps.

That is how i intend to do rust removal. Ive used it before and it works well.As long as i can get the bits off the engine to start with.

Well there must be something living in the water above the piston.

Ah...OK, now I see, mine undoubtedly had some life in there also, there was about an inch of water in it.

lendusaquid,

Don't be telling fibs!!  You just wanted to know where his yard was.

Expensive way to do it but there must be some good bits on it - the crankshaft is probably straight even if it needs a regrind!!

At least the carriage costs will be quite low and you might see something else to buy off him.....

You may be surprised at it's condition inside.  If it was worth all those bolts to repair the frost damage it must have been good at some time.

Regards, RAB
