Inline six cylinder. I want to know why they stop making them. The Chevy, Ford, Chrysler and AMC sixes had to be the best motors ever built. I own two Jeep Cherokee's and both have the 4.0 inline six. If given the choice between a new titanium 20,000 rpm 800hp engine that only weighs 100 lbs and a slow speed low hp cast iron slant six with a one barrel carb the choice is easy. I'll take the cast iron.

I want to know why they stop making them

They don't fit well in front wheel drive cars......

The large surface area of the Chrysler slant 6 made an effective radiator. They would blow off a lot of heat more than a comperable V6.

The leaning tower of power was a fine engine in its day for light trucks and mid sized cars.
Wish I could buy a new Chrysler with a Slant 6 in a mid sized Station waggon with a frame. Then hot dip galvanize it and give it a good firm suspention. A car like that would sell for people like me that want to carry stuff and tow a modest trailer.
Better yet build me that car with a Toyota inline 6 diesel.....
