Hey Jens.....If you drive from my neck of the woods to the East, just after you go through the "Pass" into Alberta, around Pincher Creek, you pass fields and fields full of giant windmills.  There's even one of them right beside the road which is the one you get the idea of the scale of these monsters. Lethbridge, which is where Troy lives is just a hop skip and a jump down the road from Pincher Creek.  Probably the most perfect place in Canada for windmills.  I'm surprised Troy hasn't gotten into them before this.

I also am from South Jersey, a little town called Estell Manor (POP 1103) I’m exactly 18 minutes from everything (stores, gas, banks ) 22 minutes from the nearest Diesel station. We don’t have sewers, gas lines or water. When you look up at the power polls you see three wires two electric and one phone and I’m the last house on the grid. . We don't even have a fire station and it’s the middle of the Pine Lands. We do have mosquitos and the Jersey devil. ;D I wish it were even more remote. With all that I still love it here.

  Tugger

Anywhere near Bala? We were up there for the Cranberry Festival a couple of years ago. Stayed at the Cranberry Cove Resort.
Was your power off for three days during the August 2003 blackout?

About 40 miles from Canada, as the crow flies, in Idaho.

Off grid, off street, off my rocker I think, but having fun.
