Eicher tractors from India
« on: November 12, 2007, 10:03:02 PM »
I was curious if anyone had any experience with Eicher tractors made in India. They are copies of an old German engineered design.  Mine is a 35 horse air cooled twin. I bought it new three years ago. I have been very happy with the performance.  Anybody have one or used one?

I searched for them and still haven't heard of them.  Have a link, pic, or anything?

Eicher goodearth (www.eicherworld.com) has sold their tractor business to TAFE (www.tafe.com) in 2005.
the joint-venture with Eicher germany ended in the 60s.

Later Eicher goodearth even held the majority of Eicher germany (when they were in financial trouble and shortly before they went bankrupt) for a short time in the 80s, but I do not know if there was a knowledge transfer at that time. At least you cannot see it when you look at the tractors :)

Information taken from the german wikipedia.
