It does TDC, it does BDC. Crap, that`s almost a working engine!  ;D

The bore ought to clean up fine with a deglazing stone, toss in some new rings, do the valves (they look like they have never been reground once yet so lots of meat there), run the head under a mill and shave flat if you have access, deal withthe rusty injection parts and away you go.

What a clever idea, put an old lister engine in your meth lab and claim you are making biodiesel to confuse the authorities.  ;D

Cor, 'at's luverly mate.  But you've got an extra Kw or two there.  3.5 or 4 would suit the old girl better.

Pete at Listerclones had a 5kW ST at the right price so I went for that. I know the 6hp engine will only give me 3kW or so of electrical power but there's no penalty in using a slightly higher rated generator is there?

Well, the old girl's tickety-boo once again and runs well on biodiesel..... just one small problem, the compression COV unwinds itself after a few minutes running resulting in loss of compression. I took the COV out when I serviced the top end and the seats looked ok and there's no problem when it is wound right in. Any idea how I can stop the valve vibrating loose?

Cheers

I heard of them from a guy who bought a pair of Petter AV1 from the guy.
He relayed the message that he also had a pair of CS singles under a pile of snow and scrap.

I was disapointed myself but remember 20 years ago they weren't even worth the trouble as scrap metal to move
