Lister ST3 head torque anyone?
« on: May 28, 2007, 09:00:57 PM »
Just reassembling Lister ST3 air cooled diesel. Anyone have the following assembly data?
1. Head nut torque settings.
2. Lead wire thickness range, when using lead wire to select correct shim thicknesses for head clearance.
I have these data for SR amd LR engines, but not for ST. Can anyone help?
               Thanks.

If you have the 7/16" bolts, 50 ft. lbs, if the 1/2" bolts 68 ft. lbs, according to book 1705 for the ST engines.  Still hunting for the rest of the info you requested.  More to follow when the right page falls open.

Thanks Dave, the torque setings are a great help. Still hope that someone comes up with the lead wire info before I put it back together.
this is such a great site.
 Regards.

Cylinder head clearance (bump clearance) should be .034 to .037 for the ST. I know this is not too timely but I didn't notice this post the last few times I was checking the site.
