Why so few new topics on this forum?
« on: June 06, 2007, 02:45:39 AM »
The information shared is great, but the trend seems to be to continue a few topics forever.  It even seems that often the original topic is lost.  Suggestion:  Let the old topics die, and start new ones.  It will be easier to get to the GREAT INFO!.......JMHO...........Bill

Lister owners tend to be pretty independant and don't take direction on ANYthing very well.  Dictating what people talk about and for how long is WAY beyond my comprehension level.   ;)

I myself have kind of grown tired of people bantering negativly about whether this guy sells engines and he's not credible or this guy doesn't know this or that. I used to come here more often but I don't like to see people argue with each other that much. I want to hear from people who want to share about there Lister experience whether real hands on or just read about. I would be reluctant to start new topics if I thought someone was going to jump on me about this correct thing or that. I come here to learn. I would like to decide whats BS and whats not without someone pointing it out to me.

A little thin skinned it sounds like to me.

Stand up and ask a question.

Bill,
Never had the pleasure.  My land in OK is just west of FtSmith.  And, I've been to the diamond mine.

Beewrangler:

the way i look at it (and i know i see things a bit differently than most) is
if you ask a question and get some heat from it,,, (which isn't likely in most cases)
that is just the price of an education :)

there will always be an a##hole out there that will have something smart to say, but usually
if you stick with it there will be others that will answer your questions,,, and....

the guy that gives you hell on one question, usually will be of the most help on your next question.

i figure it like this...
what can it hurt to ask?
they can't butcher and eat me!
at least not online :)

also the way it seems to work here and else where for that matter,,,
most all of the common stuff has been hashed and rehashed many times, over and over and over again.
every now and then a new issue comes up, or a new way of doing something, or something that has not been done
before, or a particular way,,, then there is a new topic and alot of activity for a while.

then there comes the doldrum's,, times when things get a bit slow,, which also seems to coincide with when we
bitch about the epa, beat up importers, call listeroids the nightmare from hell, and "eat our own" for entertainment :)

yes it is a heck of alot of fun :)

so roll up your sleeves,, put on the gloves and jump in... post a question, start a thread, propose a new idea or theory...
just remember to bring your own cut man :)
