I am lazyRunning 24/7 for several reasons.
First I am lazy, if I keep the engine running I don’t have to purge out the WVO and try to start a cold
engine.
Kidding aside, the main reason is that the engine is in a garage/shop and has a heat exchanger on the
exhaust so it keeps the shop warm. Electrical energy running at full load is used to run electric heaters in the
main shop.
I want to know if and how long this configuration will operate reliably. The combined energy output from
the generator and heat extracted off the engine should meet my heating needs for about half the winter.
During the coldest months I would have to run 2, 6/1 or a 12/2.
If this proof of concept unit works out, I will trench in some insulated coolant lines for a heat exchanger in
the main shop. So in my case, the price per kWh is lower since did not factor in the heat extracted into the
equation.
