Proud owner of original lister CS6/1 - WHAT NOW???
« on: January 09, 2007, 11:51:20 PM »
I am since yesterday the proud owner off a fully refurbished lister CS6/1 that I got with a great amount of luck for 1500 Australian Dollars.
It will be delivered to me tomorrow and I will set it up as a Genset.
My big question now is where do I start best. The engine is running like a dream and starts so easily. I just don't want to make any mistakes. Is there any literature available? Is there a chance to optain a service manual for this engine?
Thanks,
Edward

Buff,
there are manuals on the web Peter's(Listerdiesel) site
http://www.oldengine.org/members/allen/techindex.html has heaps of info. For genuine spares try Brian wells of Vintage  Lister in Tamworth, NSW (02 6760 8276) No financial connection but I have bought from him in the past.
Beware,the lister bug bites :D

Cheers,

Brian

Brain and others:

Could I just clear up a misconception about Oldengine.org please?

Oldengine.org is Jim Dunmyer's site, not mine, and the various members have their own sections set up within it.

Jeff Allen's technical Index which you have mentioned, lists various sections within the site as a means of locating things easily.

http://www.Oldengine.org/members    gets you to the main member's index page.

I do have my own site within Oldengine, and also look after the site maintenance as administrator for Jim Dunmyer.

Don't want Jim to lose any credit for the site, which hosts all the member's section entirely free of charge.

Peter,
Woops! sorry, my mistake. I like to give credit where it's due, and both of those gentlemen (and other contributors) deserve the highest praise. It's a fantastic site from which I've already learned tons.

Cheers,

Brian
