Flyingpony
My 8/1 just got delivered today, and I have just finished uncrating it, although it is still on the palette. It is a Powerline from Anand:
http://www.poweranand.com/diesel_engine.htmalthough I purchased from the UK importer,
www.stationaryengineparts.com. The deal is that Anand replied to my initial email, but asked me to purchase via SEP, which I was happy to do initially as they supply a warranty, and claim their engines are made to a higher spec. when shipped to SEP.
First impressions are good - paint quality good, not sprayed/brushed all over vital moving parts, well packed, with clingfilm in all the right places, and extra packing on all the vulnerable parts, and yes, it's true, the packing crate is made out of some sort of concrete made to look like wood...
Rotated engine by hand, makes all the right clicking sounds, flywheels ring true. As a bonus, I seem to have got the 1000rpm rated flywheels.
Copper washers in all the right places, no swarf in the fuel tank, no badges screwed onto fuel tank using self-tappers.
Plastic blanking plugs in all the apertures, split pins fitted correctly.
Further inspection to follow, together with stripdown.
