Blackstone JP/OP/RP and Variants
« on: December 04, 2006, 08:22:33 PM »
As requested on another forum, I have put up four pages of data sheets for the Blackstone horizontal oil engines, covering the JP / OP / RP and other variants at:

http://www.oldengine.org/members/diesel/Technical/Blackstone1.htm

There are links between the pages, no main thumbnail menu yet, but I have a 1960's Lister-Blackstone sales book that has lots of the brochures that Lister used in that period, most of which were lost in the big fire at the factory in the 1960's.

I'll get around to the others in due course, these are in colour so slightly bigger files for the pictures.

These are nice engines and tend to be shunned by the 'true enthusiasts' as they have an enclosed crankshaft but external flywheels.

Hi For the off grid user these engines are the "Real Thing".  I wish the indians would reproduce these properly.

The 12hp unit I saw had a connecting rod around 3' long if I remember rightly.
