oil filter
« on: January 06, 2006, 07:02:00 PM »
Hello I am trying to find info about a photo on coppermine that shows a remote oil filter.  The filter looks like a fleetgaurd.  I am going to FL to pick up my 12/2 on Mon.  Can't wait. Any info would be great thanks.  Matt

Those are pretty expensive.  You can go to any NAPA store and they will have, or can order, a spin on oil filter base.  While you're at it, why not lose the stock fuel filter and get a spin-on fuel filter/water separator for a VW Jetta.  About 35 dollars for the filter bases, and 10-15 for the fuel filter/water separator for the VW diesel jetta.  Oil filter is cheap, too.

NAPA's website has some information but last time I checked you couldn't order on line.  I think they don't want to compete with their bricks and mortar business.  Sort of a passive-agressive thing.
