Why has my Valve Tappet Head been packed Up?
« on: September 24, 2006, 10:57:01 AM »
Hi
Been looking at pictures of original CS's and wondering why someone would pack up their Valve Tappet Head. Could
this be causing my Piston/Exhaust Valve problems.
Shall try and insert a picture.

Thanks

Brent

Thats strange. Were they compensating for something else that was to short? You may want to find the original specs for 3/1 valve train components and compare them to yours.

Yes, that could cause problems. Some pics of the rockers might help.

Thanks, Geno

The early tubular pushrods used to break up at the ends, so if the rod was repaired/shortened, it may have been a modification to make up for the loss of length. Later and replacement rods were solid.
