How do i remove the pulley on my ST-12?
« on: September 20, 2006, 02:17:09 AM »
Hi everybody this is my first post here and I am trying to remove the V belt pulley on my ST 12 so that I can set it up to be a direct drive is there a set screw that holds the pulley on the shaft or is it a friction fit that requires a puller?

Thanks

Jay

Hi This is new to me. Mine did not have a pulley installed.

I would scrape all the paint off the hub and check for a set screw.
If there is a keyway in the shaft, clean that area on the hub too. There may be a gib key buried there.

I got it the pulley off the ST-12. The manufacture of the generator set I bought pressed it on the shaft, and it took a 6 ton bottle jack and heat from my cutting torch to get it to move.

Thanks
