Cav Fuel Pump Reassembly

Hi All,

I’m looking for some guidance on the correct reassembly order of the delivery valve components on a CAV fuel pump from a Lister LV1.

I’ve stripped and cleaned the pump and am now reassembling the delivery valve. The workshop manual (Fig. 2.25.1) shows the delivery valve, spring and spring seat, but my pump also has an additional thin washer/shim and what appears to be a separate valve guide/seat.

The parts I have are:

Delivery valve (stem type)
Spring
Spring seat (top-hat piece)
Larger collar/guide piece that the valve sits into
Thin washer/shim
Delivery valve holder (union)

I believe the washer sits inside the holder, but I want to confirm the correct order of assembly and orientation of the valve (stem up or down).

Can anyone confirm the correct stack order for this type of pump?
