This forum is as lively as can be,, go to the micro co-gen page of you want to experience dead, LOL. When I first came upon this scene the LEF was down for reasons I can remember? Everyone was at the micro co-gen forum. Then this place came back to life,,, and the co-gen forum has went downhill since


I think FB has something to do with it? all old school forums like this are suffering lack of traffic, well most anyways. Cheap solar has mostly destroyed what was left of  the India slow speed diesel deal.

Got to partial agree with all of you.

My five cents are:

Hugh - You are right! made with #1 a turn arround (1200km) to north of country, last week, and put in back seat of ute 223L (200 red, 18 special green rosé - espadal, and 5 of generous [you call it Porto];

Butch: Yes FB sucks! And nobody answer your questions there. In the FB you only get the foam of the day... or week. And lot of BS (in your slang). This LEF got the virtue to have knowledge along times, and that cant be beated. And you can put questions and be answered.

My good fellows, now I got about 60 to 70 tons of pine to pile, because everything is on ground, broken or tiped, and contrators only want to pay 35€/ton. It will be 10 years for next crop of wood. Ah... and a new shed to tractor... and more 2 roofs to repair... and my fathers ROVER 214 to repair too.

As soon as I can Ill put some pics here, and in my threads.

Power grid was off from 28jan to 21fev. And no fiber yet. The Petter PAZ1 made 217h of power.

Stay safe, and dont forget to rush to the nearest fuel station. Tomorrow more 22 cents/L in diesel, because Iran is burning...

Hi VP, glad to see you're still active and pleased to see you weathered the storms with not too much damage. Yes, please send some photos. A friend of mine living in Portugal got hammered, her chimney blew over and fell through the roof, destroying her sitting room. Good that you could make power through the outages, and I'm pretty sure you were out there assisting your neighbours too, you are that type of man.  Good luck with the pine, and the vino and porto. Here in South Africa, I'm on the west coast, we are coming to the end of summer, but still experiencing heatwaves, 39°C predicted for tomorrow.

Still Alive and Kicking!

Here in USA (Tennessee) we went from 20F degrees to over 80F in 5 days time. And we will have several more cold snaps! The world has gone mad I'm afraid. The woodboiler and the Changfoid are ready and willing! We ran on wood for about 3 weeks in the coldest part of the winter as the heat pump went down. No problems at all, fire in the AM and another in the PM and all good! The gen set is an old 12kw ST head with a Xing Dong 1115, works wonderfully. Cooling and exhaust are handled with heat exchangers cooling by an ancient brass and copper tube and shell exchanger. The exhaust is an exchanger of my own design, I have no numbers on effiency, but hot water is coming off it during operation. I have probably 200 gallons diesel ready in case of grid down.
I am looking forward to the Listeroid and 7.5 KW st genset for less demanding scenarios when I don't need a lot of power.
