Head Gasket LPW3

I suspect the head gasket may need changing on our LPW3 generator unit.  Approx. 9000 hrs.

We are off-grid and rely on this generator as a backup to solar/wind generation. Currently need generator about once every 24 hrs (depending on weather).
I have basic mechanical skills, but have never changed a head gasket.

Given the above, how realistic is it for me to attempt this / any particular pitfalls or problems to watch out for?   Appreciate any thoughts from those more experienced.
