Time to retire and sell out
« on: November 14, 2025, 12:46:40 PM »
I have come to the age where spending all my time in the shop is no longer what I wish to do. Thus I am closing down my slow speed parts and repair buisiness .There is a large inventory of CS Lister parts and the vast bulk of the known Bamfords Z series parts existent both new and used.  All will be for sale including contacts at a very attractive price that will allow for a very good profit for a buyer.  At this juncture I'm not interested in selling parts piece meal other than maybe splitting up the Lister and Bamfords parts. Please email or PM for details. I will NOT discuss the sale this thread.

All the best for your retirement, but please tell me that you will still stay active on the forum.  Your posts have been most informative and were we to lose your input, it would be a huge loss to the community.

I am with the others.. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of these engines.. Me personally have learned a ton from your posts.. Wish you the best in retirement, but I am a little selfish and hope you still check in once in a while in between your other retirement projects. Good luck 38 and enjoy it..

I forgot, where are you located? I'm in South Florida.

I really don't need anything as I have 2 listeroids. But ya never know. I'm also retired and love to tinker.

Off topic a bit.. But, 38ac what is the latest (newest) model genuine Lister CS 6/1, 12/2 etc you have  had in your shop? 60's 70's 80's ? Did the newer models have any significant changes from the mid 1930's to about the mid  60's? Just curious. Thanks.

Edit:  Maybe a dumb question, probably because they did not change a dam thing since losing the changeover valve..Was more interested in the last few years of production..

I'm in central Ohio. If you have any interest in supplying parts the price on my inventory is quite attractive. PM for details.

I have had my hands on a couple of the last ones built. There are very few changes from the late 30s on. Just minor things like fuel filter, exhaust. Tbe basic engine was unchanged.

Best wishes Butch. I'm just about there myself. As one door closes, another opens.

Hey there Butch. I want to thank you again for selling me the engine last week and showing me your collection. I made it home with no problems and lost about 5 lbs. with the heat...hahaha.
