Lister Junior A16
« on: May 30, 2025, 10:24:03 AM »
Good morning just about to start restoring my Lister Junior .When I bought it the fuel pump wasn`t working ,but after fitting new string seal it seems Ok. However when I removed the fuel pump ,the operating lever dropped down. If I lift and hold  it up and turning the   flywheel , nothing happens to the lever ,I expected it to go up and down .May something have come adrift inside the plate it projects out of .If so since this plate holds gears ,I think for the tappets is there any thing I should be careful of removing it. You can see from the photo when I turn the flywheel ,without touching the piston lever ,it drops to downwards  Len

I have held it up and nothing happens .Its logical that a spring has come off  If I remove the plate the lever is on ,is there anything I should be careful of ,like getting things out of sync etc

I`m hoping now I`ve packed the early model  pump which I have it works I`m now trying to sort the magneto timing out ,but I am getting various suggestions ,some say set it with the lightening flash at the top .However some members say the flash is on the face ,yet in the manual its on the rim .Len
