Engines / Re: Lister HR3 Bryce fuel pump help

There is no way you can crank it without operating the decompressors. To test get a spare injector pipe and bend it so it points away from the fuel door then you can check the injector atomisation on any Lister motor.

Well I got the other fuel pump working. Itís not popping from the injector it spraying. Wanted to test it out. But now Iím not able to hand crank it cause of the compression. I think the rings might have seated. When I push all the compression levels down I can turn it but I have no compression.

Good thinking Hugh. Our Club used a lot of dry ice to help shrink the cyliner liner in the Clubs big Tangye engine. Even then it was stubbourn but got it out in the end.

I would have interest if not for $5 fuel and long drive away. Good luck with it, it will be a tough sell in that condition and. no  loading but hopefully there will be some local interest.

Re: cooling/heating to remove bearing from shaft.
In commercial aviation, we sometimes encountered a wheel bearing stuck on an axel (think big, like 747)
The solution was to pack the axel in dry ice, the bearing remained at ambient temp. the bearing usually just slid off.
Dry ice is not that difficult to come by, locally, it's used for packing fish for transport via courier (sport fishermen)
Cheers
Hugh
