Other Slow Speed Diesels / Re: Ebay Lambardini
« on: December 20, 2007, 01:29:52 AM »
they are great little engines, i worked on them 25 years ago for the local distributor, H&S rentals in gaithersburg, md. these engines held up very well in a rental situation (ie: no oil changes, idiots running them ect..) looks like they have updated them a little & they dont weigh that much, that 10 hp may weigh 250 lbs. & i'm sure the retail price is more than he has listed. scott r.

hey wright killer, found these people on the forum somewhere.
  http://www.stationaryengineparts.com/#1026X1028
price comes out to be right at 65 dollars u.s. (less tax & shipping i'm sure)
they also have a flywheel ring gear at about 75 dollars u.s. that i'm thinking about ordering if i can find the proper starter for it (10mm should be pretty common i think)
i would imagine they will sell you a glowplug only, if thats what you are looking for.
  good luck, scott r.

I agree with xyzer, your dropping rpm immedeatley upon introduction of load, have you made the changes in govenor linkage most everybody feels is required on these engines? if not i would suggest a search to find these threads. scott.

forgot to mention that ron should add a breaker lock off in his main panel to make his system meet electrical code. it is just a piece of stamped sheet metal that allows the breaker to be turned off & locked by means of a small lock or even a zip tye to prevent some one from turning on the power to your sub panel while you are working on it. scott r.

hi ray, the reason you connected it thru the breaker is that all equiptment, including panels, must have a disconnecting means, unless it is cord & plug connected (unplug it to disconnect) or it may have a breaker "lock off" in the panel feeding the equiptment to allow it to be safely worked on. since this is not fed from another panel  you would be required to connect it this way. the panel you have should be able to accept a "half space" 50 amp 2 pole breaker in place of the "full space" you are using now. it is like two of the thin single pole breakers you are using for the 110v. loads, connected together.  this would free up two more "half" spaces in the panel. by changing the breaker & moving your single pole breakers you most likely can add another 2 pole "half space" breaker in there. scott r.
