Stunning Peter!

I would like to order a 40' version.  Would you mind tossing in a big screen TV and hot tub?  Also, would you be available to deliver it here in the US?

In all seriousness, beautiful work!!!!

Are the sides one continuous piece of the foam material or does it come in smaller sheets (it's hard to see seams if they are there in the pics)?  Also, what is the roof made of?  Again, one continuous piece?

Lastly, I love the folding hitch idea as it cuts down on the overall length nicely!

Just a fantastic job!  Can't wait to see the finished pics of the inside as well.

WOW!

Best regards,

Steve  ;-)

Well, I for one would love to see what you come up with Injin Man!

I do hope you continue to share info as you progress.  I respect that you're taking a stab at it, and thank you for being willing to try!

Thanks in advance,

Listeroid Engines / Re: 55 lb hammer and a cracked hub....
« on: March 05, 2011, 06:13:21 AM »
jfuerst,

One option you might consider would be to take your flywheel to a machine shop and inquire about having it machined to accept a split taper bushing.  It's superior to the gib key attachment method and would allow much easier flywheel removal down the road.  The cracks likely wouldn't matter (depending on how deep they go) because the hub would be machined off anyway.

If it were me, I would seriously consider doing both flywheels at the same time so future grief would be eliminated.

Replacement might be the best option.  That having been said, the split bushing option has been done before successfully.  I remember the person who had it done posting about being happy with how it worked out.

Lastly, if you decide to replace them, you might consider replacing with the heavyweight versions that are designed for generator use.

Food for thought...

At least you can rest assured that what she lacks in looks she makes up for with enthusiasm...

General Discussion / Re: Diesel Fuel Addative Study

Wags,

Not to be picky but I think it would be helpful if you edited the original post and changed the title spelling to Additive.

It will help folks in the future when searching for fuel additive using the correct spelling.  Otherwise this thread won't be found and it contains lots of great info!

Thanks!

Mike,

Just as an fyi, when I tried to respond to your email it bounced as a bad address.

That's why you've never received a reply back from me besides a PM.

Please try again with a good email address or a PM.

Thanks,

Steve

Other Fuels / Fuel from plastics

I happened upon a video showing how this worked and found it interesting.

I then traced back to the thread and read about its construction.  Thought others might also find it interesting.

He posted the link to his vid in the thread so I didn't repost it.

Very interesting indeed!

Spencer,

Check out the links to the vids of the gent who distills diesel from WMO that I just posted.  Interesting approach that might solve the problem.

Waste Motor Oil / Home made diesel from WMO
« on: January 30, 2011, 07:25:27 PM »
I found these videos on accident while browsing YouTube.

***Make sure to close the Google ads that cover up the text he posted and heed his warnings***

Redkrabby, nice job!  Don't know if he's on this forum.  If he is, don't mean to steal your thunder.

So, before all of the critics take off, please take the time to read his answers to questions below.  He usually redirects the off gasses to help power the burner and only was showing that they were combustible for the video.  He knows better than to breathe them.  Also, he didn't have pressure gauges in place when he was shooting but has them now.  Finally, he is able to take the residual left in the boiler, mix with diesel and feed to the burner.  Finally, he only feeds very small amounts of WMO into the boiler at a time to minimize the risks.

Yes, all of the usual don't try this stuff at home unless you know what you're doing warnings apply.

Nevertheless, all very interesting in my estimation.

Spencer,

Very interesting findings in your video.

Simply amazing the ash content.

Definitely would tend to act like an abrasive.

Much to think about!

Wow...

Thanks,

Steve
