From what I've seen a 20 peak HP 125mmx120 Changfa appears to be the largest on the market. I tried the www.changfa.com and the www.changfa.cc  sites and both my computers stalled, then couldn't find the sites?
On the average. Are these engines any good and run thousands of hours on clean air, clean oil and clean fuel? Has there an odd dud here and there? Or are they all boat anchors in the making?  I seen another post on this site saying they are a 100hr machine. How many have thousands of hours in North America on a Changfa?
Importing into Canada so the epa hasn't gone silly in our markets, yet.

Generators / kill-a-watt meter from who,what,when where?
« on: September 29, 2006, 07:55:54 PM »
I must be doing something wrong. Searches for the kill-a-watt meters occassionally seen on this site all show instead just the little 15A U-Ground P-4400 or something gizmo.
Could somebody please post a link or something for factory data and dealers of these meters please?

Listeroid Engines / Listeroid running backwards?
« on: September 10, 2006, 03:53:18 AM »
Given that the Listeroids have a cam driven injection pump similar to the Two Stroke Detroit diesels. And similar to the John Deere Two Cylinder diesels.
Will a Liseroid that has been lugged almost to a stall or has had barely fast enough starting rpm. Kick back and run backwards with exhaust from the "intake" and breathing in through the exhaust.
Had a JD with a oil-bath aircleaner, kick back while pulling in front of a crowd. It was a humbling experience getting myself "oil-bathed" .

Generators / (flashing) 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 etc

How do you cope with everything electronic flashing 12:00, 12:00,12:00 and so on. After a brief blip or loss of power while transferring from generator to utility or vice versa?

Is there such an animal as a Lister type twin that does not have the pushrods and tappets out in plain view. And require drooling some lube on them every day or two? My 2-53 Detroit two stroke in the tractor already"oils" everything/everyone nearby.Something where the entire engine is sealed and self lubed?
Can't trust the wife or kids to either regularly lube or avoid getting caught in rotating equipment. They had the lawn mower crankcase empty again today. Must be the synthetic lubricant, can't explain how the engine hasn't seized several times by now.
I would rather avoid the Petter type as 650 rpm vs. 1500 rpm operation is desired.
If 650 to 1000rpm operation Lister can not be had. I may as well direct couple a ST alternator to an ordinary1800 rpm JD tractor engine genset type of deal.
I grew up on the old two cylinder john Deere's where rpms at full rated load is a screaming fast 975 or 1125 rpm. The sound and feel  kind of gets in your blood.
The plan is a 20KW or larger co-generation project for winter and summer usage.
