Engines / Re: Need opinion on re-assembly
« on: December 11, 2007, 03:09:04 AM »
stan ive done both i preffer #1. if you do #2 be shure to slip vacuum hose over con rod bolts to keep mr. crank happy. i proped the piston on 2x4's till the cylinder was ready to go all the way. i had help and used a screwdriver for a ring compressor. a pair of vise grips on the long studs kept the cylinder from slaming the next set of rings possibly breaking them. i only had to do this as my 24/2 was purchased with the top end off and when reassembled i had a valve leaking. my purchase was in good faith that everything was ok . 2500$ later with extra gasket set, pistons , and liners im happier than a pig in deep s**t.

Listeroid Engines / Re: Accidents involving Listeroids?
« on: November 10, 2007, 03:11:46 AM »
there is always a horrer story to go with everything. #1 exploding flywheels did the rpms excide rim speed ? did some object get itself impelled in the wheel itself or the fuel control? engines dont ususally run away it is only the people around them that do so. over fueling of a combustion ignition engine RUN AWAY can happen but there is usually a human error to do so.

how much crankcase oil does it hold? even a brief runaway shouldnt suck it dry. it has been said that engines become over fueled and it is indeed the human that usually runs away. either way sorry about the bad luck

Listeroid Engines / Re: EPA position on Listeroid

your chain saw, edger, or edlebrock motor and go kart all run on the taxable but not profitable fuel known as gas. the g has you and taxes are sucked in but not profit because it supply and demand not profit. the prob is your lister or roid will burn any combustable and the g cant regulate it. thats where the trouble starts. epa my as"  they cant get theres so you anit gettin yours

shhh as soon as its known that they can also burn what the  g man cant tax it wont be long. again they want the buck . the money lost will be the end nothing else. regulations are to keep taxes feeding the pockets. burn anything that isnt taxed theres a problem. emisions are nill. the buck stops were they decide

not rufflin feathers her but 2hp per kw good. its a parabolic curve that gets more efficent hp wise as the gen sizes up. power line #50349 is a 12/2 tag states 8.8 kw i also have # 50355 24/2 17.6 kw  this is hp rating of optimum output wicht my vary by fuel (btu per hr) , altitude, or any other rodent which chooses to pee in the fire . 8800 watts (8.8kw) at 240 gives 36.67 amps . very impressive no power factor losses or volts droped. run will drop volts and amps go up if conductor size cant provide. there aint no free lunch

your distance will depend on your conductor size. my 12/2 states 8.8 kw
