Listeroid Engines / Re: Balancing out the Bounce---

Gee I hate to be a newbee here and resurect an old thread but here goes. I used copybells method which is standard static balance procedure for most singles cept one problem! TWO FLYWHEELS! Not one. You have to assume that both flywheels are heavy or light in the same spot(you are treating them as one). When you apply the bobweight then add weight to balance the flywheels and divide by 2 is where you can blow it! I know! The problem is you could have one bad flywheel and a perfect one then you are adding weight to the good one and not enough to the bad one! They both have a mind of there own! Also you are putting the weight in the wrong area for each wheel(you are adding the weight to the center of there difference?). If both flywheels are reasonably symetrical it will improve your chances with the posted process. But these are Listeroid's! If and when I can get my hands on another Listeroid I'm goin to do it this way. It will be the same procedure that copybells posted BUT I will use half of the calculated bobweight weight and balance one flywheel at a time. If I am curious I will put the full calculated bobweight on and both flywheels just to see if it still is ....it should be and EACH flywheel will be balanced....Make sense? I didn't notice one flywheel the casting ran kinda true to the rim but the other was WAY off till I got it running. I now have a 6-1 that is portable and can set it anywhere. But it took a bunch of extra work after I did it the BOTH flywheel way! Trial and error! Next time.....The improved way!
