Someone from the forum should move to India to start or manage a listeroid factory, any volunteers?

Lister Market Place (things for Sale) / GM90 + gen head on craigslist
« on: July 29, 2019, 10:58:08 PM »
I found this one on craigslist, seems like a decent buy for someone in the U.S. https://columbiamo.craigslist.org/for/d/holts-summit-generator/6913264834.html

Seriously considering it myself, but I think I would rather wait for a clone to come up near me.

Things I want to Buy / External oil filter - Chinese horizontal
« on: July 20, 2019, 03:07:41 AM »
I know utterpower used to sell a special bolt to make it easy to add an external screw on oil filter to the Chinese diesels. Does anybody have one you would sell and or have a diy solution?

Changfa Engines / 1115 build
« on: February 22, 2019, 04:31:06 PM »
Hello fellow diesel addicts,

My first engine is arriving next Tuesday (thank you old seagull man) and I'm excited to start piecing together my first generator build. The goal for the build is longevity, fuel flexibility, and adaptability. I really want a power system that is tough as nails, isn't picky on fuel, and I can harvest multiple forms of energy off of. What I mean by adaptable is that I could have it running a 10-15kw head normally and be switched to turn an alternator to charge a battery bank in the future if needed and be able to harvest the heat from the water cooling. I would love to get one of those metal plates that allows you to run a radiator (or preferably a large barrel). I have a couple questions that I need the wisdom of my elders to solve.

1. Advice for acquiring a proper gen-head
2. Is utter power the only place that sells the cooling conversion plates?
3. Does anyone run a barrel for a radiator on their Chinese horizontal?
4. Any helpful advice for the project considering it's goals.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and keeping one of the coolest diy/engine forums I have found alive!

Changfa Engines / Laidong and alternative fuels
« on: January 28, 2019, 05:10:48 AM »
Does anyone have any experience using alternative fuels with the Chinese horizontals? The reason I'm asking is because I found a dealer out of Canada that has Laidong's for almost half the price of his listeroids. I'm wondering if the Chinese horizontals are as versatile with fuels as the 6/1's are? My main objective is a reliable, versatile (fuels), and not so thirsty backup generator for my Subaru Robin 5000kw diesel (which is very thirsty under load).

Listeroid Engines / Testing import exception
« on: January 22, 2019, 05:56:00 PM »
Has anyone successfully imported an Indian or Chinese horizontal under the "testing" exemption outlined in the EPA import guidelines? I was looking around the forum at a post from 2007 and there was also mention of an "emergency" use exception.

Listeroid Engines / Good price?
« on: January 21, 2019, 06:25:40 PM »
Hello all,

Would love some opinions on a listeroid I found for sale in the midwest. It is a Metro premium 6/1 (no idea what premium means) with ST 5kw generator on a steel I frame. Engine is describes as like new, generator is described as used but good shape. He is asking $3000. Is that a decent price in 2019? Would love some input.

Thank you.

Hello all, I am new to the listeroid and was wondering what readily aquirable brands and models have the best replacement part availability? Trying to figure this out before I run out and buy one.

Thanks,
