I've put this up on the Lister LD, SL ,LR ,SR & LT diesel stationary engine group on Facebook as I'm wondering how your engine does this as well. That's the problem being an electrician doing engine work, I did 25 years as a sparkie.

Bob,
Good to see you version of the cart, that's different having the front wheels inside the frame, I like the concept. I expect to take delivery of an ETB in the next week or so, it's coming over from Magnetic Island, where it was pumping water for domestic use. Do you have a photo of the completed project? I would love to see them as I intend to couple my ETB up to a IBC piston pump.

Can the oil seal behind the cast aluminium fan be removed without removing the crankshaft? I am having problems removing the lube oil pump pressure relief valve and the main bearings seem to be OK, so was just going to change the big end bearings and the seals on the output shafts. I only intend to use the engine as a display so it won't see a lot of work.

While pondering my next move over a cold stubby of 150 Lashes I noticed the very faded Lister Decal was different to any other I'd seen, it seems to have a sphere under the tail of the L, maybe it could be a world globe. Mr Google hasn't come up with anything resembling it, see photo.

Avondale, made up a 56mm spanner out of 6 X 75 flat bar, I was going to add another 6mm thickness, but a couple of taps the bolt moved, it's a 2 and 7/32 or 56mm nut on the LR1 but the bolt id about 3/4" diameter. Hint on getting the flywheel off the taper, align the keyway with  where you might be able to get a hit behind the air duct, I used a piece of timber to protect the fly wheel, a couple of good slogs with a lump hammer, then turn 180 deg, and hit again, that way you are not fighting the key, I got heaps of crap from the air ducts, and accumulated garbage off the fan.

I have a Lister D to restore, but when running has a bit of wobble in the fly wheel and shaft. There's a bit of noise going on that sounds like it's coming from the bottom end. Does this indicate a bent shaft, or could it be a bearing issue. Just want to know what to look for as I'm stripping it down. I do intend to replace all parts that could be worn out, but don't want to replace the bearing only to find the shaft is bent.

Yes hard work shearing, I guess that's why I was an electrician!

I think the735 was achieved by a Kiwi, but it was performed in the UK, that equates to a sheep every 44 seconds I wonder if he had wide combs on his handpiece.

Dad would take about 6 weeks to shear his lot, as he had to skirt and roll the fleece himself, as he was a one man band, he also had other farm duties as well. He hated the shearing as at the end his hands were as soft as an office worker's due to the lanolin.
