Greetings all.
My engine seemed to be lacking power and I was having binding issues with the governor linkage anyway, so I decided to try replacing the yoke as per pictures I've seen here.
During this process I realized that the rack is not opening fully once all of the linkages are connected and adjusted per 38AC's method and I tighten the spring which opens the rack.
There is no external binding and everything is moving smoothly now, but about 60% rack is all I get before I can feel the internal governor sleeve reach it's full travel, so no matter how tight I make the spring the rack will open no further.
I have attached 3 pictures showing the rack in the No Fuel Position, Fully Open with the linkages attached but held open against the Governor Sleeve, and 100% open with the Vertical Linkage disconnected.
Does this seem normal?

Congratulations on another excellent build sir, the way you have it balanced one would not guess that these engines are known for rough running.

I was set on ultimately buying an 18/1 at some point, but after seeing this I guess I might have to side with Glort, buy a 16/2 instead, and blame it on you "It's all your fault".

Hello guys, I ran her for about an hour with a light load tonight. I have turned both the engine and the slab around in order to get the gen on the "dry" side of the engine, away from the water hoses. I still have to finalize the injection timing and optimize the valve timing per 38AC's method. My Tachometer is telling me that my engine is only turning about 525 RPM so I am down on power. I have a bigger pulley that I will try. All comments are welcome.

My goals for 2018 in order of importance are:
1 Finish my 1973 Ford P350/Benz OM617 project.
2 Finish my WVO settling/filtering/ storage project to run the P350 on.
3 Continue building my small gas and diesel engine repair business.
4 Go at least partly off grid by way of Wind, Solar and Listeroid power.

If it's what I consider old, antique, historic or whatever excuse my mind comes up with at the time, it comes home with me.
I have passed on too much "junk" in my time, only to regret it later (e.g OM617 Benz Diesel with tranny, 327 Chevy V8 with TH400, etc.)
My present philosophy is "I can always get rid of it later, but I will probably never come across another one".
